Some of the best things in life are enjoyed slowly, which is how we approach our exploration of the Veneto; a region that encompasses the area just south of the central Alps and Dolomites. From here, we head west through the Po River valley along an ancient trade and military route—the Roman Road—via Postumia. Originally part of the Holy Roman Empire, it came under French control in the 17th century following the Treaty of Westphalia in 1648.
