Explore the 'land of a thousand hills'

After meeting our guides, we’ll catch a quick flight westward to Kamembe. Feel the pulse and heart of Rwanda as we begin walking through local communities and along well-trodden paths. After a gentle up climb, we’ll arrive at One &amp; Only Nyungwe House for a relaxing afternoon and dinner. TRA

Head deep into the forest on a canopy walk exploring the Igishigishigi Trail, crossing suspension bridges with incredible views over the forest canopy. Then we’re off to the Giskrua Tea Factory for a tour and infusion tasting. This evening, we’ll visit the Africa Parks Headquarters for an insider look at how the organization is managing Nyungwe Park.

Embark on a chimpanzee tracking adventure, wandering through the forest and listening for vocalizations to spot these incredible primates. Once spotted, we’ll spend up to an hour observing them. The rest of the afternoon is ours to enjoy the beautiful hotel property before regrouping for a tea ceremony and dinner.

We’re off to the coast of the vast Lake Kivu today, embarking on a short walk and arriving at Cleo Lodge in time for a late lunch. Later this afternoon, we’ll regroup for a sunset cocktail on the lake, admiring the fishermen as they head out for the night. 

Our walk begins in Kinunu, where bright green coffee estates blanket the surrounding hillsides. While we walk, we’ll hear about the coffee washing stations speckled across the hillsides and the economic impact the stations have on local farmers. Tonight, we’ll enjoy dinner on the terrace at the hotel. 

We’re off to Musanze today where we’ll begin our walk just outside of town, sharing the trail with the local community with stunning views of Sabyinyo Volcano in the distance. After lunch at the lodge, we’ll be joined by a former gorilla tracker and learn about the vital conservation efforts for primates.

Head out early this morning for a full day of gorilla tracking in the Virunga Mountain Range. With our expert trackers, we’ll make our way to the trailhead in search of family groups of Silverback gorillas—the sight of these primates is exhilarating. Tonight, we'll enjoy dinner at the lodge.

Choose between another gorilla trek, setting off in search of a different family, or a hike out at Twin Lakes, embarking on an easygoing lakeside walk and picnic lunch. We’ll then regroup at the lodge for a final celebration dinner, reflecting on an incredible journey in Rwanda.

After a relaxing morning at the lodge, we’ll drive back to Kigali for onward travels.

Unveiling Nature's Masterpiece

Upon arrival at the Mana Main Airstrip, we'll embark on our first game drive towards Mana Pools National Park and our first camp, Nyamatusi Camp. Adapt to the gentle pace of safari life as you spend time bird-watching, meditating and searching for wildlife in the afternoon. 

Immerse yourself in the fragile ecosystem of the Zambezi River as we stroll along its tranquil shores. Embark on a canoe safari to search for wildlife from the water. Catch glimpses of crocodiles, hippopotamuses, elephants and a variety of aquatic birds.

Head to the beautiful Mana Pools National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, for a safari today. We’ll learn about conservation efforts and connect with anti-poacher rangers to learn about their work in this wilderness. 

Catch a flight to the Bumi Hills airstrip and witness a bird's eye view of the incredible Lake Kariba. This afternoon, take to the waters by boat to explore the remnants of a drowned forest.

Set off to explore the lakeshore on foot, witnessing waterbuck, zebra, buffalo, elephants and fossilized dinosaur footprints. This afternoon, connect with a conservationist from African Parks to gain an understanding of wildlife conservation at Matusadona National Park.

This morning, visit a local community near Lake Karibato to learn more about their traditions and understand the various community and wildlife co-existence projects run by the African Bush Camps Foundation. 

Catch a morning flight to Hwange National Park and take a game drive to Somalisa upon arrival. In addition to elephants that frequently visit the camp’s pool, keep a lookout for swift cheetah, dazzling zebra and the graceful giraffe that may saunter into view. 

Head out for a morning game drive, then continue to the park's outskirts to visit the community projects supported by the lodge and African Bush Camps Foundation at Mambanje. After a picnic lunch in Hwange, spend the afternoon discovering the park's astounding diversity of wildlife.

After one final game drive this morning, we'll drive you to the airstrip for the flight to Victoria Falls airport. Safe travels!

Nyamatusi Camp is situated on the banks of the renowned Zambezi River and is a representation of the surrounding environment. The camp is reminiscent of days gone by and is inspired by nature. Nyamatusi comprises six&nbsp;spacious and well-appointed tents, each with its own private deck and plunge pool, offering remote views overlooking the Zambezi. While at the lodge, you'll embark on&nbsp;game drives and&nbsp;thrilling canoeing safaris. Fishing on the Zambezi River (catch and release only) and birding safaris are highlights here.&nbsp;&nbsp;

This ​family safari​ camp, located slightly to the west of sister camp Somalisa, sits on the edge of a seasonal floodplain in Hwange National Park. The camp enjoys its own private views of a small water hole, frequented by large herds of big game including buffalo, elephant, kudu, zebra, giraffe and lion. A small splash pool allows you to cool off during the heat of the day. Activities on offer are game drives and walking excursions with the camp’s professional guides. Most of the activities are in the Somalisa private concession but with easy access to other parts of Hwange National Park.
