Day 1

Welcome to Bangkok! We’ve arranged a seamless stay for you at the Novotel Bangkok, just five minutes away from the airport. This will offer easy access for your flight to Paro tomorrow morning. NICE!

Day 2

Upon arrival in Paro, you will be driven to Six Senses Hotel in Thimphu, enjoying scenic views along the way. Depending on arrival timing, we may stretch our legs and take our first hike of the week before dinner at the hotel.

Day 3

Challenge yourself with a four-hour hike to Toep Chandana, crossing the Toebi Rongchu and reaching a local nunnery. Refuel with a sumptuous dinner at the Six Senses with stunning valley views.

Day 4

Traverse the Punakha Valley with its charming villages, meadows and blooming flowers. Enjoy a picnic by the river, visit the Punakha Dzong, and spend the afternoon indulging in hotel luxuries or taking another hike.

Day 5

Head to the Gangtey Valley, known for its Black Necked Cranes. Stay at the luxurious Gangtey Lodge, offering excellent views of the glacial valley and serves as the seasonal residence for the endangered cranes.

Day 6

Hike through farmland and forests until reaching the Black Necked Crane Conservation Centre for lunch. Learn about the cranes and their migration patterns under the guidance of an expert naturalist. After lunch, there is an optional challenging hike back to the hotel.

Day 7

Take an early morning departure to Bumthang, followed by a hike through beautiful landscapes, forests and a pass with panoramic views. End with a visit to the sacred temple of Tharpaling before heading to the hotel.

Day 8

Visit a nunnery where 130 nuns reside, participating in a powerful drum ceremony dedicated to well-being. Challenge yourself with another four-hour hike from the nunnery, following the trails of local merchants and traders.

5 km (3.1 mi.) hike from the nunnery on old merchant trails | 4 hours

Day 9

Step by step, follow the Chamkhar Chu River upstream until reaching Ngang Lhakhang village. Feast your eyes on a 15th c. temple, mountains and peaceful farmland. There is an option to hike further before dinner at the Aman.

7-8 km (4.3 - 4.9 mi.) hike to Ngang Lhakhang (Swan Temple) | 4-5 hours

Day 10

Catch a flight to Paro, where we'll enjoy lunch or explore town. Hike to the isolated and serene Zuri Dzong temple, offering stunning views of the Paro Valley.

Fly to Paro and go on a hike, or visit the town for some shopping

Day 11

Journey to the legendary Tiger's Nest Monastery perched 800m above Paro. Witness unbelievable views and spot rare birdlife, ending the day with a memorable evening at the hotel.

8.5 km (5.5 mi.) hike to Tiger’s Nest Monastery (5-6 hours) | Elevation gain: 700m (2,300 ft)

After breakfast at the hotel, you will be driven to the airport in time for your onward travels.
